theIndonesian – Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachmad Gobel chaired the 16th plenary meeting of Session V Year 2023-2024.
The meeting was held after the House of Representatives went into recess. In today’s plenary meeting, 153 members of the House of Representatives were present while 138 were excused.
Deputy Speakers Lodewijk F Paulus and Sufmi Dasco Ahmad were also present. Meanwhile, House Speaker Puan Maharani was absent from the plenary meeting but her whereabouts are unknown to date. It was observed that half of the total 575 members were present and 284 were absent.
“Thus the forum has been reached by saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim allow us to open the 16th plenary meeting of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, trial period V 2023-2024 we declare open and open to the public,” said Gobel at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (14/5).
In total, 291 members of the DPR were present and authorized, while 284 were absent. The plenary agenda will also be filled with the speech of the Speaker of the House.
“Attended by members from all factions in the House of Representatives. Thus the quorum has been reached, please allow us as leaders of the board to open the plenary meeting of the DPR RI,” he said.
For the record, the House of Representatives’ recess period runs from Friday (5/4) to Monday (13/5). This means that the hard recess lasts more than 5 weeks.
