This condition means that it fell by 34.9% from the previous month or month to month (mtm).
On an annual basis or year on year (yoy), April 2024 wholesales car sales slipped 17.5% from the fourth month of last year which reached 58,981 units.
Year to date (ytd) January-April 2024, total manufacturer-to-dealer car sales reached 263,706 units, a 22.8% drop compared to last year’s first quarter which reached 341,582 units.
On the one hand, Toyota continues to maintain its position in leading car sales at the factory-to-dealer level (wholesales), despite the sinking trend of its car sales in the country in April 2024.
Based on Toyota’s total sales of 80,856 units during January-April 2024 with a market share of 30.70% of total national car sales.
Despite still dominating the market, Toyota’s wholesales sales in April only reached 15,201 units, a 28.1% decline from the previous month which reached 21,142 units.
Daihatsu became the second ATPM with the highest wholesales sales in April, which amounted to 9,481 units or dropped dramatically from the previous month’s realization of 16,552.
Meanwhile, total sales from January to April reached 55,484 units with a market share of 21%.
Meanwhile, Honda recorded total sales from January to April 2024 of 32,677 units with a market share of 12.40% and wholesales in April 2024 of 4,911 units or fell far from the realization of March sales of 10,572 units.
