theIndonesian – Construction of PT Yadea Teknologi Indonesia’s electric motorcycle factory on 27 hectares of land in Suryacipta Industrial Estate in Karawang Regency, West Java, has officially begun.
“We are pleased to announce the establishment of the Yadea factory in Indonesia which has an annual production capacity of 3 million units,” said Wang Jinlong, general manager of Yadea Indonesia Manufacturing Company, during the groundbreaking ceremony in Karawang on Monday (13/5).
He said the strategic move is also effectively to meet the growing demand for high-quality electric two-wheelers in the Indonesian market.
The establishment of Yadea’s new factory in Indonesia, he said, not only demonstrates its leading position in the field of electric two-wheelers, but also injects new vitality into Indonesia’s industrial development.
According to him, the establishment of this factory will create more job opportunities locally, encourage the development of related industry chains, and support Indonesia in achieving its sustainable transportation goals.
“We hope Yadea can continue to utilize its technological advantages to provide high-quality electric two-wheeler products to the Indonesian market. At the same time, we also hope that more companies will follow Yadea’s lead and actively contribute to Indonesia’s industrial development and sustainable development efforts,” he said.
The total investment in the plant is estimated at US$ 150 million, and is scheduled to begin operations in 2026.
With today’s groundbreaking, he said, the Yadea plant is poised to not only cement its position as the market leader in electric vehicles in Indonesia. But also to inspire a movement towards greener travel solutions.
According to him, the new factory in Indonesia will not only serve the domestic market but also export products to neighboring countries. The plant aims to provide world-class electric vehicle (EV) solutions for Indonesians, utilizing innovative technology that meets and exceeds safety and quality standards.
