theIndonesian – Vice minister of State-Owned Enterprises Kartika Wirjoatmodjo said that a rescue plan for PT Indofarma (Persero) Tbk (INAF) is being designed to improve the performance of the subsidiary of PT Bio Farma (Persero).
“We are designing together with Bio Farma as a holding company for Indofarma’s operations,” said Kartika, who is usually called Tiko, on the sidelines of the launch of The Gade Tower in Jakarta, Tuesday (7/5).
According to her, Indofarma is experiencing a very difficult financial condition due to various problems, including debt, which led it to file a temporary Suspension of Debt Payment Obligations (PKPU).
Tiko said that the Ministry of SOEs and Bio Farma are studying the problems faced by Indofarma. However, he said that efforts to save the pharmaceutical company would be fully carried out by Bio Farma.
“We will see what the scale is like, because now the condition is very heavy. So, Bio Farma will do the rescue (as) the holding company,” said Tiko.
He added that the current handling of Indofarma is focused on two aspects: saving the company and investigating alleged crimes.
“We are following up the fraud aspect with the results of the BPK (Supreme Audit Agency) audit, maybe later to law enforcement. But (for) the aspect of saving the company, we are designing together with Bio Farma,” said Tiko.

Previously, SOE Minister Erick Thohir emphasized that his party was ready to bring the Indofarma case to the Attorney General’s Office if fraud was found.
He said his party had coordinated with BPK regarding Indofarma’s financial problems.
“I have met with BPK for Indofarma. If there is any fraud, we will bring it to the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) together with BPK,” Erick said in Jakarta, Sunday (5/5).
He emphasized that if irregularities were found in the BPK examination, his party would take Indofarma’s management to legal channels.
It was previously reported that Indofarma admitted that it had not paid employee salaries for March 2024.
“The news that the company has not paid wages to employees for the period March 2024 is true,” said Indofarma President Director Yeliandriani in an Indonesia Stock Exchange disclosure dated April 18.
She argued that the company she leads does not have sufficient operational funds to pay employee salaries.
